Stephen Solorio

I started painting in June of 2007 out of a desire to do
something that was both relaxing and challenging, while at
the same time meeting my creative needs. Wow, does it
ever!
Many times while painting, the rest of the world sort of
disappears, and all I know is the paint, the canvas, and
whatever image I have in my mind! The challenge for me is
to convey, on canvas, what I see in my mind. Nothing ever
quite matches up to my minds eye, but I learn from every
painting I attempt. I paint primarily with oils, and have
worked with acrylics as well.
I have two children and have been married to my wife Terri
for 26 years. Our daughter loves the theater, and has been
part of various acting and comedy troupes in the Nashville
and Chicago area (Shakespeare to Improv). Our son is a
music major at Vanderbilt University, studying the oboe and
playing the guitar (Mozart to The Rolling Stones).
I hope you enjoy looking at some of the paintings I've done,
and if they lead you to imagine some other time or place,
then they have done their job!
