Night fell and the brush strokes were fast to change colors as they vanished in the darkness to appear again in a different light on the ever changing canvas. Everyone involved enjoyed the night painting. The Mystery of The Night This article appeared in The Goodlettsville TN Newspaper just prior to the event Opportunities don't come along every day for a group of artists bring to life a historic building via the artists brush. Under the light of the moon this group of artists will interpret their first night painting under the direction of David Gillihan, artist and winner of the prestigious Gallery Award. When they gather on October 20th in front of Anna Belle Antiques located at 112 Brick Church Pike in Goodlettsville, TN, it will be a fun and interesting opportunity to view the changing of color values with the loss of natural light. Perhaps one of the artists will see the magic of the building while painting it in the moonlight. This building started life in 1904 as a church serving the local community for many years. Next it re-invented itself as a feed store for the local farmers. Then it became a wood working shop where many Goodlettsville natives gathered to enjoy some good conversation and give their opinion on the day's work. After housing a construction company, the old church once again re-invented itself to become a home for over thirty years. Then it delighted locals as well as travelers as a tea room where many ladies gathered to once again be reminded of the art of conversation while enjoying a cup of tea and delicate desserts. Today it has had new life breathed into it as Anna Belle Antiques. Over the years this wonderful building has been featured in many well known magazines such as Southern Living and Tea Time. It has also been spotlighted on Talk of the Town and Tennessee Crossroads. This renown group of artists have appeared most recently in Dollar General Corporation's "Art from the Heart" charity art show, as well as showing in Talents Restaurant in Springfield. Artists in this group are currently showing at Chocolate's Expressions across from Bicentennial Mall in Nashville; and the Future Poets on the Square show in Cookeville, TN. The caliber of talent in this group is unending, whether displaying their work in an art show, showcasing in an area business, or selling their work off the walls of The White House Gallery. Every artist is a winner! |
