Dolores Anderson
I have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren and spend as much time with them, as I can.  I still work
full time at Vanderbilt University and have been there for 24 years.

I look forward to retiring soon.  I live with my youngest daughter, Kristie, my son-in-law, Ali, and my
youngest granddaughter, Julie, who is the light of my life.

Now that I am happily single, I can actually have a hobby, where I can go and relax, as well as,
acquire friends.

My very best friend, Charlotte Lawson, who is a real artist, encouraged me to take up painting, so I
decided after looking at some of her paintings that this was what I wanted to do.

I stopped one afternoon in July of 2009 and met David Gillihan of Artists On Main Painting Society.

After talking with David, I decided to take one of his classes and I am glad I did because I really
enjoyed it.

I had never drew or painted growing up and really didn't think I could, but when you have an art
teacher, who has patience, understanding and knowledge to teach, then it is a miracle what you
can accomplish.

I get to relax and get away from everything, when I am painting.  Sometimes I am in my painting,
especially in my ocean scenes.  I love to paint realistic scenes and still life paintings.

I am in a class of experienced excellent painters, who inspire me to be able to paint, as well, one
day, as they do.

Painting is my therapy in life.

Thank you, David.
