| David Gillihan Greenbrier, TN Artist/ Art Instructor Outstanding Art Teacher from The Governor's School of Art I am married to my wonderful wife, Kathy. Who is also an artist. We have four beautiful children and two amazing granddaughters. I retired from Bell South in 1988, after 25 years of service as a Staff Manager to the Vice President. I owned a car dealership for 20 years with my brother until 2005. I have been oil painting for 35 years. When I started painting, I searched for instruction and guidance from more experienced artists. Although I had many instructors, I found instruction from artists Shirley Pharris, Daniel Greene of NY, and Charles Gruppe of Europe, especially beneficial. In 2005, I decided to start teaching my passion-oil painting. I have found great pleasure in sharing my prior experience and knowledge with my students. I have been displaying my artwork at various galleries over the past 10 years. I have had the opportunity to be the art director at the White House Arts and Crafts Gallery, as well as, honored with the Gallery Award in 2005. |
