I am a native Iowan, transplanted for fifteen years in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. I have been in Greenbrier three
and one half years since my husband died. I share a home with my daughter and her family. I have two sons
that live in Iowa. I have nine grandchildren and two great grandsons.
I started painting when I was forty. I've done mostly water color and oils. I stopped all painting for about
fourteen years. In April 2008 I began to think about it again. I tried to get started on my own but I just could
not get that first stroke started. I saw a sign on a window in a little strip mall in Goodlettsville that said Oil
Painting Classes. I stopped in and met David Gillihan. He gave me that last little push to get started that I
needed. I got a few more supplies and started June 3rd, 2008. I am very excited to be back painting
especially under David's teaching. I have given most of my paintings to family and friends. I hope you enjoy
my work.
