Hello,
My name is Nina Moss. Thank you for your interest is my artwork. Recently, I have
found myself with more time on my hands than I like. For as long as I can remember I
have enjoyed drawing. I found it to be a ready source of calm when things were
going in the wrong direction around me. Just a do-dole would do! Once when my
military son was a long way from home I came across a picture of him and felt as
though I had to paint it. I guess it was a way to connect with his absence. I studied
his face, the glint in his eyes, the funny way he smiled, that little scar over on his
forehead where he fell down so long ago. So off I went to the art store, with canvas
and paint in my hand and a brand new easel, I trucked on home and went to work. I
found working with oils tricky to say the least but the portrait of my son was finished
and actually bares his resemblance. The reward I had from the experience was
unforgettable. My love for painting life’s moments finds it beginnings in that portrait
of my son so long ago. Every stroke of the canvas comforts me as it did back then.
So here I am today, with all this newly found time on my hands, taking art lessons at
Artist on Main sitting under the finest learning technique, interpretation, discipline
and color harmony. It is my desire to continue to enjoy painting and produce works
that bring me pleasure. I want to capture and record life in my work. Thanks Dave for
allowing me to take from your experiences.
